I felt like a car after an accident on a rain-soaked road.
Everything outside looked almost untouched.
The body was still there.
The wheels remained.
The paint still shined.
From a distance, nothing seemed broken.
Yet inside,
the engine refused to start.
Like a machine running without oil,
my mind overheated,
unable to carry its own weight.
The body wasn’t failing.
The mind was exhausted.
My therapist told me
that some engines need more than fuel.
Sometimes they need time,
conversation,
and medicine—
not to become a different vehicle,
but simply
to find their way back onto the road.
