There are days when I look back and feel incredibly proud of myself.

A lone figure walking through vast tea gardens under an open sky.

For years, I walked through life without having someone constantly by my side to share things with, to help me through difficult moments, or simply to witness my everyday life. Looking back now, I sometimes wonder how I managed to carry so much on my own.

The truth is, I wanted that companionship deeply.

Not necessarily someone to solve my problems, but someone who could notice the quiet sighs, the subtle changes in my voice, or the tears I tried so hard to hide. I never wanted to explain my sadness. I only wished someone would understand it without needing an explanation.

Most of the time, I ended up crying alone. The words would come much later, long after the emotions had passed.

Perhaps that is why independence became so natural to me.

Whether I was joyful or heartbroken, angry or loving, strong or vulnerable, I learned to walk through each emotion by myself.

And today, when I look back…

I am proud of the person who kept walking.
